Hydrometeorological Disasters Management
Master Program’s Aim
The main objects of the Master program are: the prognosis, protection and response or mitigation of hydrometeorological disasters.
The aim of the program is:
- The study of extreme weather and climate phenomena, such as floods, droughts, hurricanes, etc.
- The promotion of scientific research carried out internationally in this field of Civil Engineering.
- The establishment of scientists – researchers who will have the infrastructure and the necessary resources for the production of independent and original scientific research and for the supply of specialized work
- More effective response to the needs of the country in civil engineering works in relation to the response to hydrometeorological disasters, with the provision of specialized personnel for the study, analysis, design and management of these projects.
Categories of Graduates Admitted
Graduates of all University Departments and Faculties and Technical Universities of a similar subject can be admitted to the Master Program.
Program Duration and ECTS
The duration for the award of the Master degree is set at two (2) semesters and in the summer period (intensive program).
The award of the Master Degree requires the successful examination in the prescribed courses of the University of Athens and the successful evaluation of Diploma Thesis.
The total number of credit units (ECTS) required to acquire the Master Degree is 75
